Architecture ASIC Engineer (DSP): Developing and evaluating coherent optical DSP architectures for high-throughput communications ASICs with an accent on signal processing, digital communications, and system-level simulation. What you will do
- Research technical literature in communications, coherent systems, and related fields.
- Develop Matlab and Python simulators to evaluate DSP architectures and optical system performance.
- Use, maintain, and modify in-house C++ simulators and model coherent systems at multiple levels of detail.
- Translate customer requirements for coherent optical systems into concrete design decisions and CMOS-implementable signal-processing solutions.
- Define, implement, and execute functional verification and validation activities.
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations, and present results to internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience with signal processing and/or digital communications concepts.
- Strong theoretical knowledge of signal theory, digital signal processing, physics, and mathematics.
- Experience using Matlab or Python for system-level simulations.
- Ability to work with coherent optical systems and develop functional verification and validation approaches.
Nice to have
- Theoretical background in digital communications and stochastic processing.
- Knowledge of optical systems.
