What you will do

• Lead teams in designing and implementing flight control algorithms for electric VTOL aircraft.
• Build and improve high-fidelity simulation models to verify and validate system requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to connect GNC requirements with broader system and safety architectures.
• Analyze flight data from full-scale and subscale tests to refine vehicle models.
• Author software requirements and test cases to drive GNC software development.
• Design flight tests to safely evaluate vehicle capabilities in coordination with the Flight Test team.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and classical/modern control theory.
• Minimum 6-10 years of relevant experience depending on degree level (BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering).
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Must be eligible to work in Germany without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with envelope protection and fault detection/isolation techniques.
• Background in modeling physics, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience with trajectory generation and optimization algorithms.
• Flight testing experience with piloted or autonomous aircraft.
• Piloting experience.
