About the Role

You will listen to Amharic audio and transcribe it into clear written text. You will identify and label the different speakers, and structure the dialogue cleanly. You will apply correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and follow the provided formatting and style guide. You will handle natural speech, overlapping talk, filler words, varying accents, and imperfect audio. You will proofread your own work so each transcript is accurate and easy to read. You will meet reasonable turnaround times on the audio assigned to you.

Requirements

• Native or near native fluency in Amharic (Ethiopia)
• Strong written Amharic grammar spelling and punctuation
• Good ear for different accents dialects and varying audio quality
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Able to work independently manage your own time and meet deadlines
• A reliable computer and internet connection
• No prior transcription experience required
