Governance Manager

Location: Must be based in Maiduguri, Nigeria, with up to 50% travel to field locations.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day supervision of governance teams and manage program delivery across multiple grants.
• Ensure effective integration of governance and power approaches across sectors including Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection.
• Develop and implement detailed work plans, spending plans, and procurement plans to ensure timely project delivery.
• Collaborate with M&E teams to track performance and ensure data-driven decision-making.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government institutions, civil society, and community leaders.
• Oversee project budget management and ensure compliance with donor and organizational policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Public Administration, Law, or Project Management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in governance programming, social accountability, or institutional development.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Hausa and Kanuri is preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively with government institutions and community stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Strong knowledge of governance and power integration in service delivery.
