Location: Hybrid (Kaunas, Lithuania) - must work from the office at least 3 days per week

Salary: €7,080 – €7,900 gross monthly

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of senior backend engineers and principals, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Own the team’s technical roadmap and align priorities with engineering leadership.
• Drive adoption of modern backend infrastructure practices to improve reliability, scalability, and developer velocity.
• Champion backend architecture decisions through design reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
• Set and enforce engineering best practices for coding, testing, code coverage, and deployment quality.
• Manage day-to-day team operations, remove blockers, and recruit new backend talent.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend or platform software development experience with strong knowledge of distributed systems.
• Experience managing senior engineers or technical leaders, including performance management and coaching.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of modern CI/CD practices, release engineering, and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong knowledge of API design and microservices patterns.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
