TL;DR
Engineering Manager (Backend): Leading the Backend Platform team to modernize core infrastructure and standardize Java architecture with an accent on deployment strategy and observability. Focus on coaching senior engineers, driving cloud-native adoption, and increasing developer velocity across the organization.
Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Kaunas, Lithuania, and work from the office at least 3 days per week)
Salary: 6,000–7,080 EUR gross monthly + yearly bonuses (~15%) and RSUs

What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of senior backend engineers and principals, providing technical guidance and career support.
- Own the technical roadmap and align priorities with engineering leadership to support platform strategy.
- Drive the adoption of modern backend infrastructure practices to improve reliability, scalability, and velocity.
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with technical leaders to champion backend architecture decisions.
- Enforce engineering best practices for coding, testing, code coverage, and deployment quality.
- Manage day-to-day operations, remove blockers, and maintain high standards for reliability and security.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience with strong knowledge of distributed systems.
- Proven experience leading or managing a team of backend engineers.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of modern CI/CD practices and release engineering.
- Strong knowledge of API design, microservices patterns, and backend frameworks.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Java.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
