Automotive HVAC Systems Engineer

What you will do

• Collaborate with internal partners to define HVAC performance and cabin comfort metrics.
• Establish energy efficiency standards through research and benchmarking of innovative technologies.
• Design practical, low-risk HVAC solutions for unique autonomous vehicle configurations.
• Drive OEM partners to meet comfort, performance, and efficiency targets.
• Define sign-off requirements and supervise system verification through internal and external teams.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in Automotive Engineering with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Expertise in designing electric climate compressor-based HVAC systems from concept to verification.
• Proven track record in cabin ventilation system design, including airflow requirements and vent placement.
• Deep understanding of AC vapor-compression cycle thermodynamics and global refrigerant regulations.
• Ability to negotiate technical requirements with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

Nice to have

• Experience with 4-zone automatic climate control systems.
• Knowledge of alternative refrigerants like R-290 or R-744 and heat pump systems.
• Experience with automotive thermal systems including battery and e-powertrain cooling.
• Familiarity with Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and standard automotive development processes.
