TL;DR

FPGA Designer (Aerospace): Developing advanced processing systems and subsystems for defense and aerospace applications with an accent on hardware development, process compliance, and technical integrity. Focus on managing the full FPGA development lifecycle, coordinating with stakeholders, and leveraging digital transformation tools to deliver high-quality mission-critical solutions.

Location: Must be based in Owego, NY (Hybrid role)

Salary: $101,000 – $201,365

What you will do

  • Lead the development of FPGA subsystems from requirements derivation through product integration.
  • Ensure technical integrity, quality, and completeness of all hardware deliverables.
  • Manage organizational process compliance and the FPGA development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage customer interfaces.
  • Utilize digital transformation tools to enhance and streamline development processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for FPGA development activities.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required for government security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer, or related discipline with 5+ years of professional experience (or 3+ years with a Masters).
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and integrating FPGA subsystems.
  • Experience with process reviews, audits, and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with FPGA design tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Synopsys Synplify.
  • Experience with HDL simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setups and equipment like JTAG or logic analyzers.
  • Prior involvement in FAA or EASA certification audits.
  • Experience with version control and configuration management.
