Lead Designer (Unreal Engine 5): Leading the execution of the design vision for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, an open-world survival crafting game, with an accent on co-development and external partner management. Focus on translating creative vision into actionable guidance, reviewing gameplay systems, and ensuring consistency across distributed teams.

Location: Hybrid (Cambridge, UK). Must be based in or be willing to relocate to a comfortable commuting distance of the Cambridge office.

What you will do

• Drive the execution of the design vision across external development and outsourcing partners.
• Act as the primary design contact for co-development teams, providing clear direction and support.
• Translate high-level creative vision into actionable design guidance for high-quality gameplay and content.
• Review features, gameplay systems, and content, providing constructive feedback to maintain quality.
• Collaborate with Creative Leadership and Production to ensure consistency across all development areas.
• Identify risks and blockers early, working proactively with partners to resolve them.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading design efforts on shipped PC or console titles.
• Experience working with co-development studios, outsourcing partners, or distributed teams.
• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints, Data Assets, and Gameplay Framework.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence teams and drive alignment without direct line management responsibility.
• Must be based in or be willing to relocate to the UK (Cambridge area).
