Salary: $105,000 plus bonus

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including licensing, vendor, distribution, and partnership deals.
• Advise on Japanese employment and HR matters, including compliance with local labor regulations.
• Provide corporate governance counsel on entity management and shareholder agreements specific to Japan.
• Manage relationships and coordinate work with external Japanese counsel.
• Monitor and advise on regulatory developments in Japan affecting business operations.
• Support cross-border transactions and coordinate with global legal teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a corporate attorney in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Licensed to practice law in Japan (bengoshi qualification or equivalent required).
• Full professional fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
• Deep expertise in negotiations and drafting complex agreements for both the Japanese and worldwide markets.
• Ability to work independently within a globally distributed organization.
