Senior Financial Accountant (Ecommerce)

TL;DR

Senior Financial Accountant (Finance/Ecommerce): Managing core accounting areas and financial reporting for an international marketplace with an accent on month-end closing, process scalability, and stakeholder partnership. Location: Hybrid (Amsterdam, Netherlands). Must be based in the Netherlands and travel to the office twice a week.

What you will do

• Own month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reviews.
• Manage financial reporting for international entities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate processing and payment controls.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating follow-ups.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting challenges and improve controls.
• Drive the simplification and automation of Finance processes using Workday Financials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Economics.
• Must be based in the Netherlands.
• Solid experience in financial accounting, ideally within e-commerce, marketplace, or tech sectors.
• Hands-on experience with month-end closing, journals, and reconciliations.
• Fluent English proficiency (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with Workday Financials.
• Interest in AI and data automation for financial reporting.
