Senior Financial Accountant

Location: Based in the Netherlands in a hybrid setup, with fixed office days in Amsterdam twice a week. Additional in-office presence may be required during onboarding and key closing periods.

What you will do

• Own selected month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Manage accounting areas and entities through the close process, ensuring accurate, complete and timely reporting.
• Partner with Payroll and other Finance stakeholders to maintain accurate processing, payment controls and clear financial insights.
• Support internal and external audits, foreign-entity accounting partners and local reporting activities.
• Use Workday Financials and contribute to cross-functional projects, process improvements and scalable Finance controls.
• Identify risks, resolve accounting questions and simplify Finance processes and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a similar field.
• Solid financial accounting experience, preferably in an international marketplace, e-commerce, platform or technology environment.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles; IFRS knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience supporting audits and working with internal or external stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, and availability to work in a hybrid setup from the Netherlands.

• Experience with Workday Financials.

• Interest in data, automation and AI for financial processes and reporting.
