TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Product, AI Portal) (Java/Python/TypeScript/React, AI): Building and operating SaaS services, APIs, integrations, and user interfaces for Wayve staff and autonomy partners with an accent on production ownership, customer-facing systems, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on designing cross-stack solutions, improving reliability and observability, integrating OEM environments, and resolving complex production issues.
Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work from the London office and home

What you will do
- Build and operate internal and partner-facing products used by staff and autonomy partners.
- Develop services, APIs, integrations, and web interfaces across the AI Portal platform.
- Work across microservices, backend services, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure, and partner environments.
- Improve platform reliability, observability, and operability using metrics and customer feedback.
- Triage and resolve production incidents and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation after becoming established.
- Own solutions end to end, from understanding customer needs and designing the solution to shipping and operating it.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience with Java, Python, and TypeScript/React.
- Experience building and operating production systems, preferably in a small team.
- Experience with multi-tenant platforms, external-user APIs, enterprise SaaS, B2B platforms, or customer-facing production systems.
- Comfort working across infrastructure, backend services, APIs, and frontend development, with a backend-leaning focus.
- Experience with on-call, incident response, or production support rotations.
- Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, product thinking, and ownership in ambiguous environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with automotive, mobility, robotics, or autonomy partners.
- Experience with secure data flows, cross-cloud integrations, or partner environments.
