What you will do

• Ensure the availability and reliability of mechanical and HVAC systems, including chilled water plants, boilers, and oil-free air systems.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems, troubleshoot systemic issues, and conduct root cause failure analysis.
• Oversee industrial instrumentation and automation systems, including the programming and calibration of PLCs.
• Develop engineering scopes of work, feasibility studies, and technical roadmaps for facility expansions and renovations.
• Manage the performance of equipment by overseeing Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) partners and external vendors.
• Mentor other engineers and serve as the technical lead for mechanical and controls engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of field experience with mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps) and control systems (PLCs, instrumentation).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Santa Clara, CA.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience supporting data centers or advanced laboratories.
• Experience transitioning from hands-on roles to system ownership and vendor oversight.
• Proven track record of mentoring and leading technical teams in critical environments.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
