TL;DR

Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Infrastructure): Leading the electrical engineering design and delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design and construction support with an accent on power distribution, substations, and regulatory compliance. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, ensuring adherence to Qatar regulations (QCS, Kahramaa), and mentoring engineering teams.

Location: Onsite in Qatar

What you will do

  • Lead electrical engineering design for infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, pumping stations, and substations, from concept to tender documentation.
  • Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical reports.
  • Design MV & LV power distribution systems, transformer installations, switchgear, and smart lighting systems.
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with civil, structural, mechanical, ICT, and architectural disciplines.
  • Lead BIM coordination, review Revit models, and manage multidisciplinary clash detection.
  • Mentor electrical engineers, BIM engineers, and CAD designers through technical reviews and coaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
  • 12–15 years of electrical design experience, with at least 5 years in a Lead role.
  • Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Qatar.
  • Expertise in Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), Kahramaa Electrical Regulations, and Ashghal Design Manuals.
  • Proficiency in IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and BS/EN standards.

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, or equivalent professional registration.
  • Experience with Renewable Energy Integration (Solar PV) and EV charging infrastructure.
