TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer - Databases SRE (DevOps): Increasing the reliability of Grafana Cloud databases based on Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope with an accent on high-SLA customer environments and automation. Focus on designing and implementing SLOs, reducing SLO burn, and leading incident response for multi-tenant systems.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the UK, Sweden, Spain or Germany)

Salary: €109,709 - €131,651

What you will do

  • Partner with product engineering squads to own production reliability for high-SLA and complex customer environments.
  • Design and implement automation to scale reliability practices and eliminate toil.
  • Define, evolve, and monitor per-tenant SLOs and reliability models to proactively prevent repeat incidents.
  • Lead customer-impacting incident response and conduct high-quality post-incident reviews (PIRs).
  • Influence feature design to ensure production scalability and operability.
  • Mentor engineers and communicate SRE best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the UK, Sweden, Spain or Germany.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, with 4+ years specifically in SRE, CRE, or production engineering.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes in AWS, GCP, or Azure, and IaC tools like Helm, Terraform, or Jsonnet.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and operating multi-tenant systems in production.
  • Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux internals, networking, cloud storage, and scaling.
