Android Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

• Develop features for passenger and driver Android applications supporting intercity rides and parcel delivery.
• Implement geolocation, maps, real-time order statuses, and behavior for unstable network connections.
• Run A/B experiments, manage feature flags, and implement analytics events.
• Participate in code reviews, write tests, and co-design solutions with backend and iOS engineers.
• Use Claude Code, Copilot, and other AI tools as part of an AI-First approach.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial Android development with Kotlin.
• Good knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, MVVM/MVI, and dependency injection with Dagger/Hilt.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, multi-module projects, and Gradle.
• Understanding of networking, caching, and development for unstable connections.
• Experience with unit testing.
• English level: B1+.

Nice to have

• Experience with maps and geolocation services such as Google Maps or 2GIS.
• Experience with Play Integrity, fake GPS protection, or other anti-fraud solutions.
• Experience with Spec-First or AI-assisted development.
