Senior Software Engineer, Productivity (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, United States

Salary: $158,000–$245,000 base salary per year, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize internal developer platforms, tooling, and infrastructure services.
• Use AI and machine learning to automate developer workflows, reduce repetitive work, and improve code quality.
• Build and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to reduce build times and increase deployment frequency.
• Develop messaging platforms, observability systems, and workflow automation tools for engineering teams.
• Improve infrastructure reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, on-call participation, and P1/P2 postmortems.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify productivity bottlenecks and measure improvements using build times, deployment frequency, and developer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including CI/CD, developer tooling, or platform infrastructure at scale.
• Strong backend programming skills in one or more of Python, Java, Go, Kotlin, Rust, or Node.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed, high-concurrency, high-load, and highly available systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Aliyun and infrastructure tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Strong system design, architectural decision-making, technical leadership, mentoring, and RFC review skills.
• Ability to write tested code, conduct code reviews, and uphold quality gates including 80% unit and integration test coverage.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML tools or LLM integrations for developer workflows, automated code review, or engineering productivity.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or the ELK stack and production incident response.
• Background in platform engineering or developer experience at a technology or fintech company.
• Experience measuring developer productivity through build times, deployment frequency, or developer NPS.
