Senior/Staff Cost Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; on-site

Base salary: $195,000–$250,000 per year

Zoox develops high-quality vehicle products through its Vehicle Development organization.

What you will do

• Own and lead cost estimating and modeling processes within Vehicle Development.
• Develop and maintain the Vehicle Development cost database for all phases of vehicle development.
• Create detailed cost estimates and should-cost models for vehicle components and systems.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in value engineering and identify cost reduction and value capture opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize component costs while considering program volumes.
• Support vehicle programs across drivetrain, trim and lighting, body and closures, electrical systems, thermal systems, chassis, geometric integration, vehicle attributes, and homologation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Business Operations, Finance, Cost Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Automotive OEM experience and knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and cost analysis tools.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree in Finance.
