What you will do

• Design and ship features for the agentic interface, including streaming, context window management, and tool orchestration.
• Contribute to the AI layer by working with OpenAI/Anthropic models, LangChain4J, and Pydantic.
• Build and maintain integrations, custom datasets, and benchmarks that underpin the data platform.
• Provide technical direction to the team through design decisions, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Collaborate with customers and product stakeholders to translate business needs into elegant technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience across different systems and domains.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Java, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with React, Jotai/Redux Toolkit, and data visualization.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, DuckDB, Databricks, and AWS (Ansible + CDK).
• Strong ability to break complex problems into simple, elegant solutions.
• Must be based in Auckland, New Zealand to support the hybrid work model.

Nice to have

• Comfort with AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code and Codex.
• Experience in SaaS or data platform environments.
• Prior work in visitor attractions, hospitality, or the cultural sector.
