What you will do

• Serve as the technical leader for the Practice Hub team, driving project delivery and system architecture.
• Design and implement scalable, highly available microservices using Java, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
• Apply DevOps principles to ensure system resiliency and minimize technical debt.
• Collaborate across organizational levels to define long-term engineering vision and practices.
• Own major components of the Vet Care platform, balancing development and operational responsibilities.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including team leadership.
• 15+ years of experience developing scalable distributed microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
• 10+ years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
• Strong proficiency in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design and complexity analysis.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying highly available cloud-based systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Background in e-commerce or large-scale data mining.
• Experience with infrastructure tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or XP.
