TL;DR
Senior (Chief) Architect (Digital Identity/Secure Communications): Designing interoperable digital wallet and secure communication architectures for cross-border digital identity ecosystems with an accent on trust frameworks, security models, cryptography, and eIDAS compliance. Focus on evaluating MLS, Matrix, Signal, REM, and eDelivery protocols, translating regulatory requirements into technical specifications, and defining interoperability and conformance testing approaches.

What you will do
- Lead technical working group discussions with industry, standards bodies, public sector organisations, and trust service providers.
- Evaluate and guide the design and evolution of digital wallet ecosystems, including reference architectures, trust frameworks, security models, and interoperability approaches.
- Assess secure communication protocols including Messaging Layer Security, Matrix, Signal, Registered Electronic Mail, and eDelivery.
- Define security, assurance, and trust requirements covering authentication, access control, key management, cryptographic binding, encryption, replay protection, auditability, and non-repudiation.
- Develop technical specifications, profiles, interfaces, APIs, data models, and interoperability frameworks for cross-border digital identity ecosystems.
- Translate eIDAS requirements into technical architectures and produce architectural recommendations, analyses, and governance materials.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience in communication infrastructures, secure communications, digital identity, trust services, cybersecurity, distributed systems, or related fields.
- Expertise in digital wallet architecture, security architecture, secure communication protocols, interoperability, standardisation, digital identity, trust services, or privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Experience engineering large-scale modern communication systems and translating complex requirements into scalable architectural solutions.
- Technical expertise in at least one of MLS, Matrix, Signal Protocol, Registered Electronic Mail, or eDelivery.
- Understanding of the eIDAS Regulation and its implementing measures, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into interoperable technical solutions.
- Full professional proficiency in English, written and spoken, plus strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.
