TL;DR
Mobile Core Engineer (SIM for Things) (Telecommunications/IoT): Designing, deploying, and evolving end-to-end mobile core solutions for large-scale IoT connectivity with an accent on SIM/eSIM technologies, roaming, cloud environments, and regulatory requirements. Focus on analyzing call flows, troubleshooting complex network issues, assessing platform architecture, and coordinating implementation across product and operations teams.
Location: Brussels office, 2 to 3 days per week; hybrid role and not fully remote

What you will do
- Analyze, design, develop, and deliver end-to-end mobile core solutions for IoT connectivity.
- Review and validate solutions against business, regulatory, operational, cost, time-to-market, and quality requirements.
- Lead platform development, roadmap definition, technology assessments, and architecture impact analysis.
- Coordinate implementation projects across design, rollout, optimization, deployment, and maintenance.
- Prepare functional and technical specifications, RFP documents, methods, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical authority in call-flow analysis, troubleshooting, and solution deployment with operational teams.
Requirements
- Engineering degree, preferably in Telecommunications or a related field, and at least 10 years of professional experience in telecom or IT.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications, mobile core, IT landscapes, roaming, IoT/M2M, and MVNO/MVNE environments.
- Experience designing and deploying mobile core solutions across traditional and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with IoT/M2M connectivity platforms, SIM for Things, multi-tenant environments, and large-scale device connectivity.
- Technical proficiency in HTTP, SS7, Diameter, MAP, INAP, and GTP, plus hands-on knowledge of at least two mobile core components across 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G.
- Expertise in SIM/eSIM technologies, SIM applets, OTA management, Remote SIM Provisioning, eUICC, SM-DP/SM-SR, SM-DP+, GSMA SGP.31/32, SIM file systems, and provisioning workflows.
