What you will do

• Lead and grow a cross-functional team of backend, mobile, and data science engineers.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, and Operations to define safety metrics and guide priorities.
• Define and drive the team roadmap, balancing global vs. local needs and technical complexity.
• Ensure predictable delivery, high engineering quality, and healthy team collaboration.
• Mentor and coach engineers through regular 1-1s to develop their skills and potential.
• Communicate technical context and strategic decisions to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Harjumaa, Estonia.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with maintainable, performant systems.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals with ability to review designs across mobile and data/ML systems.
• Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams and attracting/retaining talent.
• Experience handling ambiguity and moving teams from discussion to decision.
• Comfortable working with data, metrics, experiments, and statistical reasoning.
