Location: Hybrid role, must report to Markham Elevation Center three times per week

Salary: $115,000 – $164,600

What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance in-vehicle applications for infotainment systems.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from system design and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate on AOSP/AAOS customization and integrate modern Android architectures like MVVM and Jetpack.
• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies including unit, UI, and integration testing.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for emulators and on-bench environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers through code and design reviews.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; no immigration sponsorship provided.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of Android development experience with production apps or embedded Android platforms.
• Expert proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, and modern patterns like Coroutines/Flow.
• Proven track record of shipping complex features in large codebases with strong debugging skills.
• Experience with performance optimization on resource-constrained devices.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of Android development experience.
• Knowledge of VHAL and vehicle property APIs.
• Familiarity with automotive HMI guidelines and regulatory safety standards.
• Experience with safety-critical or regulated software systems.
