What you will do

• Establish end-to-end fiat operations including deposit/withdrawal processing and daily reconciliation.
• Implement a risk-tiered payment access framework with dynamic controls and velocity-based staging.
• Manage relationships with third-party payment providers like Nedbank, Stitch, and Ozow.
• Design and maintain fiat fraud controls to monitor and mitigate payment fraud and laundering risks.
• Ensure compliance with bank SLAs and local regulatory requirements including FSCA and FIC.
• Monitor key operational KPIs such as fraud rates, chargeback ratios, and reconciliation breaks.

Requirements

• 8+ years in financial services operations, with at least 3 years in payments, fintech, or crypto.
• Deep knowledge of the South African banking and payments ecosystem (EFT, PayShap, Stitch, etc.).
• Proven experience operating within South African financial regulatory frameworks (FSCA, FIC, SARB).
• Strong background in fraud risk management and building operational teams from the ground up.
• Proficiency in data analysis and metrics management, including SQL.
• Experience with fiat on/off-ramp flows and crypto exchange operations.
