What you will do

• Design and implement architectural changes for large-scale, complex systems.
• Write clean, well-tested code and perform rigorous code reviews.
• Collaborate with product teams to estimate work and establish MVP requirements.
• Mentor and coach developers to elevate engineering proficiency and culture.
• Contribute to shared libraries and define best practices for development.
• Participate in incident response and tackle complex debugging tasks.

Requirements

• Extensive experience at a Principal, Staff, or Tech Lead level in fullstack, frontend, or backend development.
• Deep understanding of modern web application development, tools, and techniques.
• Proven track record of delivering architectural change in large, complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of core web concepts including HTTP and security principles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and support team growth through mentorship.
• Must be based in or able to work from Auckland, New Zealand.
