What you will do

• Act as the primary local representative in Portugal, building relationships with local authorities, MPs, and community leaders.
• Design and execute a structured community engagement program, including public meetings and briefings.
• Identify and manage community concerns, complaints, and emerging political risks to ensure minimal project disruption.
• Collaborate with program and contractor teams to embed community considerations into project decisions.
• Develop partnerships with local organizations and communicate the project's economic impact regarding jobs and skills.
• Provide strategic briefings and insights on the local political environment to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, or local government.
• Must be based in Portugal to operate as the local face of the project.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, development, or construction projects.
• Proven ability to build trust and credibility within complex and competing stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical projects to diverse audiences.
• Experience operating within politically sensitive or regulated environments.
