Electro-Optics System Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end development and integration of electro-optic and imaging sensor systems.
• Define requirements, develop system architectures, and translate user needs into functional designs for sensors, optical assemblies, and image-processing components.
• Create system, hardware, and software requirements specifications and maintain engineering documentation.
• Support system verification and validation, including optical performance testing, sensor accuracy assessment, calibration, and compliance reporting.
• Participate in SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and TRR reviews while managing risks, configuration control, and technical decisions.
• Conduct market research, prepare technical proposals and reports, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related Electro-Optics or Imaging Systems discipline.
• At least 5 years of systems engineering experience involving electro-optical system design, imaging sensors, and optronic system integration.
• Hands-on experience creating system specifications, managing development cycles, and validating optical performance.
• Knowledge of systems lifecycle methodologies, including the V-model or Model-Based Systems Engineering.
• Understanding of imaging technologies, sensor systems, optical assemblies, performance modeling, optical testing, and imaging calibration.
• Proficiency with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS; INCOSE SEP certification or equivalent is expected.
