What you will do

• Act as the senior compliance authority for LATAM with direct accountability for regulatory relationships across LatAm jurisdictions.
• Lead regulator engagement (inspections, inquiries) and set strategic regulatory positioning for the region.
• Lead, develop, and coordinate a team of MLROs and compliance professionals across multiple markets.
• Implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks aligned with the Global Compliance Standard, adapting them for local markets.
• Supervise compliance reviews, investigations, and suspicious activity; identify compliance gaps and drive remediation.
• Prepare and submit periodic compliance reports to local authorities and coordinate responses with regulators and auditors.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Mexico
• 10+ years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency, including regulatory/licensing advisory and/or financial crime.
• Proven AML/FT and sanctions compliance experience in traditional financial services, fintech, or crypto exchanges.
• In-depth knowledge of the LATAM regulatory landscape, with a strong focus on Argentina and El Salvador (AML laws, data privacy, consumer protection, and crypto-related regulations).
• Strong experience with KYC/KYB and CDD/EDD processes, including ongoing monitoring and risk assessments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in Spanish and English (oral and written).
