Software Engineer II (AI)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate core detection systems from initial design through rollout and maintenance.
• Own end-to-end detection projects, scoping ambiguous problems and defining delivery milestones.
• Analyze missed-attack data to identify patterns and translate them into system-level detection enhancements.
• Write and tune detection logic using scored signals and attributes to minimize false positives.
• Develop and evaluate LLM-based detection agents, measuring precision and recall rigorously.
• Participate in on-call rotations, resolving customer escalations and improving observability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Proficiency in Python and strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Comfort with SQL and reasoning over large datasets to identify signals.
• Experience with AI-native development and using AI coding agents in daily workflows.
• Ability to own projects with initial ambiguity and communicate effectively in distributed teams.
• Eligibility to access technology subject to U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, high-throughput pipelines, or stores like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kafka, or Spark.
• Background in security, threat detection, anti-abuse, or fraud detection.
• Experience with ML/LLM evaluation, prompt iteration, and eval harnesses.
• Knowledge of DNS concepts (typosquatting, homoglyphs) or identity impersonation signals.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
