Principal Mission Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

Principal Mission Assurance Engineer (Aerospace): Leading the Mission Assurance team to ensure the safety and reliability of the Nyx modular space vehicle with an accent on vehicle safety architecture and risk mitigation. Focus on implementing FDIR strategies, conducting RAMS analyses, and driving flight readiness through disciplined verification.

Location: Bordeaux (France), Munich (Germany), or Turin (Italy). Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are provided.

hirify.global is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo and potentially human transport.

What you will do

• Lead the Mission Assurance team and define the end-to-end safety strategy for the spacecraft.
• Own the vehicle safety architecture to meet internal and external requirements from ISS, ESA, and CNES.
• Perform and review FMECA, FTA, PRA, and RAM analyses to identify risks and failure modes.
• Define and validate spacecraft fault management and FDIR architecture.
• Collaborate with avionics, software, and operations teams to ensure safe behavior under off-nominal conditions.
• Mentor a team of safety and reliability engineers and report RAMS status to program leadership.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in an engineering or science discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in RAMS, mission assurance, or systems safety for complex hardware systems.
• Experience leading teams or technical projects and setting technical direction.
• Proficiency with reliability tools such as FMECA, FTA, and reliability block diagrams.
• Deep understanding of fault tolerance, redundancy management, and spacecraft systems.
• Must be willing to relocate to France, Germany, or Italy.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and validating FDIR logic and watchdog strategies.
• Previous experience working with government customers such as ESA or NASA.
• Passion for the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
