Mission Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

Mission Assurance Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and managing the safety architecture for the Nyx modular spacecraft to ensure reliability and mission readiness with an accent on risk mitigation and fault management. hirify.global is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle for cargo and human transport.

What you will do

• Own the vehicle safety architecture to meet internal and external requirements from ISS program, ESA, and CNES.
• Assess pre-flight risks and develop mitigations in collaboration with design, analysis, and operations teams.
• Perform and review FMECA, FTA, PRA, and RAM analyses to identify risks and failure modes.
• Define and validate the spacecraft fault management and FDIR architecture.
• Support on-console operations as the Mission Assurance representative and drive in-flight anomaly resolution.
• Champion a culture of mission assurance, utilizing first-principles thinking and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in an engineering or science discipline.
• Proficiency with reliability tools such as FMECA, FTA, and reliability block diagrams.
• Deep understanding of fault tolerance, redundancy management, and failure detection/isolation/recovery.
• Technical knowledge of spacecraft systems (communications, orbital mechanics, avionics, propulsion, thermal control).
• Ability to manage complex projects and meet aggressive deadlines under pressure.
• Willingness to relocate to France, Germany, or Italy.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and validating FDIR logic and fault response sequences.
• Previous experience in customer-facing roles with government agencies such as CNES, ESA, or NASA.
• Passion for the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
