Principal Software Engineer - ML Platform Engineer

What you will do

• Design and evolve internal platforms, reusable abstractions, self-service workflows, and golden paths for AI services and engineering teams.
• Improve reliability through observability, monitoring, alerting, deployment safety, release practices, SLIs, SLOs, and incident readiness.
• Build automation that reduces operational toil, improves incident detection and recovery, and strengthens CI/CD and developer workflows.
• Troubleshoot AI model-serving issues across frameworks, runtimes, GPU environments, and model format conversion workflows.
• Design resilience, recovery, and failure-mode testing for distributed systems and platform infrastructure.
• Evaluate and operate AI-assisted engineering workflows for code review, bug detection, testing, remediation, UI validation, accessibility checks, and production readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, DevOps, developer experience, or a similar production-focused role.
• Strong programming and automation skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience building or operating internal platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, shared infrastructure, and cloud production systems.
• Knowledge of observability, distributed systems, incident management, root cause analysis, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.
• Ability to collaborate across teams, influence technical direction, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML platforms, inference services, model serving, data pipelines, or GPU-backed workloads.
• Experience with SLOs, error budgets, platform product thinking, infrastructure as code, security, access control, and secrets management.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted software engineering tools and agentic workflows involving source control, CI/CD, browser automation, and developer platforms.
• Experience with Playwright or similar browser automation frameworks for UI validation, accessibility checks, regression testing, or workflow automation.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing governance and quality controls for automated systems.
