What you will do

  • Own the game’s architecture and technical direction, making major technical calls and setting standards for production builds.
  • Move fast in discovery: prototype gameplay systems and mechanics to validate ideas quickly and de-risk production.
  • Line manage the engineering team (including Senior Engineers), running 1:1s and supporting performance and growth.
  • Drive delivery accountability by breaking initiatives into deliverables, identifying critical-path risks, and communicating trade-offs.
  • Improve processes, tooling, and automation to reduce last-minute issues and protect team sustainability.
  • Instrument features to validate concepts against player and product signals; apply AI tooling to accelerate engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience shipping and operating free-to-play mobile games with at least one live title.
  • Proven ability to take gameplay features/prototypes from concept to validated, shippable builds.
  • Experience line-managing engineers (including Senior Engineers), including 1:1s, performance ownership, and development planning.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to support prototyping and engineering workflows.
  • Strong architectural understanding and systems thinking, including CI/CD, testing strategy, performance, and scalability.
  • Depth in the core stack: Unity, C#, and gameplay/client architecture, plus profiling and optimization.
