What you will do
- Support materials selection and corrosion control studies for new designs and operating assets.
- Assist with corrosion assessments, damage mechanism reviews, and root-cause failure investigations.
- Contribute to asset integrity programs, including risk-based inspection and fitness-for-service evaluations.
- Interpret results from materials testing, coatings, cathodic protection, and non-destructive examination.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to gather field data and assess asset conditions.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and specifications for client deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Eligibility to register as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a Canadian provincial regulator.
- Solid grounding in materials science, corrosion fundamentals, and engineering principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to technical detail.
- Willingness to travel to project and client sites, including industrial and remote locations.
Nice to have
- Coursework or internship experience in corrosion, metallurgy, welding, or asset integrity.
- Familiarity with codes and standards such as API 571/580, ASME, CSA, or AMPP/NACE.
- Exposure to metals, mining, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Proficiency with engineering software and data analysis tools.
