Salary: $25 per hour (approx. $4,000 per month based on 40h/week)

hirify.global News is a new editorial photo and video product line by hirify.global, aiming to cover top technology stories in the SF Bay Area with unique visuals.

What you will do

• Report visually from the field, covering breaking news, events, portraits, and features.
• Produce both professional photography and short-form video content on assignment.
• Deliver visual assets rapidly, often within hours or immediately as news breaks.
• Write accurate captions and metadata for all assets, utilizing AI tools to optimize efficiency.
• Package content in a proprietary app, including keywords, locations, and legal information.
• Follow photojournalistic ethics and standards under the guidance of experienced photographers.

Requirements

• Strong photographic portfolio (street photography experience is a valid proxy).
• Solid skills in video shooting.
• Based in or studying at a local university in the San Francisco Bay Area (preference for Berkeley and Stanford).
• Extreme attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Charismatic personality and a genuine love for meeting new people.

Nice to have

• Experience in photojournalism, such as through school publications.
• Motorbike license (company bikes are available).
