What you will do

• Transform real-time event data, such as player activity and transactions, into structured and reliable datasets.
• Develop the dbt layer, shaping data models and defining the logic for key business metrics.
• Build and optimize scalable systems using Java and Apache Kafka.
• Utilize cloud data tooling including AWS Athena, S3, and Glue.
• Convert ambiguous business requirements into concrete technical implementations and data logic.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a role bridging data engineering and analytics.
• Proficiency in Java is a must-have.
• Strong SQL skills with a deep understanding of data grain and consistency.
• Experience with dbt or a strong willingness to learn the tool quickly.
• Comfort with AWS cloud tooling (Athena, S3, Glue).
• Must be eligible to work in Malta without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with iGaming domain concepts like GGR, player lifecycles, and transactions.
• Experience using AI coding tools to accelerate engineering workflows.
