What you will do

• Lead a high-performing engineering team and provide hands-on technical guidance via coding and code reviews.
• Architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems in a data-intensive environment.
• Drive engineering efforts across backend services, infrastructure, and fintech-related platform capabilities.
• Own production systems, ensuring operational health, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and manage their career growth through feedback and coaching.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful business and product outcomes.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or relocate to Bangkok, Thailand
• Strong hands-on coding ability in Java, Scala, or C#.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams with 5+ direct reports.
• Experience in systems architecture and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience as a system owner with operational responsibility for production services.
• Knowledge of low-level engineering concepts (GC, threading, context switching) and DevOps culture (CI/CD, Agile).

Nice to have

• Proficiency in more than one programming language.
• Experience with high-traffic platforms in travel tech, e-commerce, or fintech.
• Background in data engineering or machine learning environments.
• Experience hiring and scaling teams rapidly.
