What you will do
- Develop and update sub-national contingency plans and establish early warning mechanisms.
- Coordinate the management of emergency preparedness and response, ensuring sectoral compliance and financial resource allocation.
- Conduct rapid assessments of crises to determine immediate needs and corporate priorities for children and mothers.
- Manage the timely delivery of emergency assistance and procurement of essential supplies.
- Maintain strategic coordination and liaison with local authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs.
- Mainstream disaster prevention, mitigation, and response strategies into country office workplans.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in programme/project development, implementation, and monitoring.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Must possess valid work authorization for the State of Palestine (no visa facilitation provided).
- Technical expertise in emergency preparedness and response.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
- Specialized training or experience in emergency response management.
- Experience in fragile settings, humanitarian contexts, or utilizing the cluster approach.
- Knowledge of international humanitarian law and security operations.
