What you will do

• Analyze emergency-prone conditions and risks to contribute to early warning systems and preparedness plans.
• Implement initial operational tasks and collect reliable data during emergencies to verify the nature and extent of the situation.
• Manage emergency project workplans, conducting field visits to assess local conditions and monitor progress.
• Advocate for the needs of children through local and international media.
• Mainstream disaster prevention, mitigation, and response strategies into the country office's general workplans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition, international relations, or business administration.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, or evaluation.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Must have existing work authorization for Cuba.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and provide evidence-based recommendations for decision-making.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of other official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian).
• Experience in humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction, or information management.
• Experience in emergency-related resource mobilization and capacity building.
