Location: Havana, Cuba. Candidates must already possess valid working authorization for Cuba; will not facilitate the issuance of visas or work permits for this position.

What you will do
- Analyze emergency-prone conditions and risks to contribute to early warning systems and preparedness plans.
- Implement initial operational tasks and collect reliable data during emergencies to verify the nature and extent of the situation.
- Manage emergency project workplans, conducting field visits to assess local conditions and monitor progress.
- Advocate for the needs of children through local and international media.
- Mainstream disaster prevention, mitigation, and response strategies into the country office's general workplans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition, international relations, or business administration.
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, or evaluation.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Must have existing work authorization for Cuba.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and provide evidence-based recommendations for decision-making.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of other official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian).
- Experience in humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction, or information management.
- Experience in emergency-related resource mobilization and capacity building.
- Knowledge of policies and strategies regarding national and international emergency issues.
