What you will do
- Develop and iterate on customer-facing features for banking, tax automation, and expense tracking.
- Work across the full stack using Ruby on Rails, React, Redux, and TypeScript.
- Design and optimize data models in MySQL and Spanner.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to ship high-quality features end-to-end.
- Improve codebase reliability, performance, and scalability while reducing technical debt.
- Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with management on technical planning and scoping.
Requirements
- 12+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
- Production expertise with Ruby on Rails (or similar) and React/TypeScript.
- Experience managing relational databases at scale (MySQL, Spanner).
- Proven track record of working across multiple teams and aligning stakeholders.
- Must be based in the USA or Canada.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions to diverse audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience in FinTech or products with complex compliance requirements.
- Previous background as a tech lead, architect, or informal leader.
- Experience driving company-wide engineering initiatives and standards.
