What you will do

• Develop and iterate on customer-facing features for banking, tax automation, and expense tracking.
• Work across the full stack using Ruby on Rails, React, Redux, and TypeScript.
• Design and optimize data models in MySQL and Spanner.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to ship high-quality features end-to-end.
• Improve codebase reliability, performance, and scalability while reducing technical debt.
• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with management on technical planning and scoping.

Requirements

• 12+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
• Production expertise with Ruby on Rails (or similar) and React/TypeScript.
• Experience managing relational databases at scale (MySQL, Spanner).
• Proven track record of working across multiple teams and aligning stakeholders.
• Must be based in the USA or Canada.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in FinTech or products with complex compliance requirements.
• Previous background as a tech lead, architect, or informal leader.
• Experience driving company-wide engineering initiatives and standards.
