What you will do

• Develop and implement comprehensive communications and public affairs strategies to support influence goals in Canada.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Canada Leadership Team and Managing Director.
• Lead the framing of key messaging and narratives to engage external partners, government, and community stakeholders.
• Manage media relations and build relationships to strengthen the organization's profile and positioning.
• Collaborate with specialist teams to deliver effective content, campaigns, and events.
• Manage one direct report and nurture talent across the communications function.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada or willing to relocate.
• 5+ years of experience in senior communications roles within Canada.
• Proven track record in crafting strategic communications, public affairs, and policy-related messaging.
• Strong experience managing external vendors, agencies, and professional teams.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to business leaders with superlative writing and listening skills.
• Deep understanding of the Canadian external landscape and influence strategies.

Nice to have

• Public affairs agency experience at a senior level.
• MA or higher degree in a social science or related field.
• Functionally bilingual in French and English.
