TL;DR

Senior Creative Engineer (UI/UX): Leading and executing high-quality production design across digital platforms with an accent on multi-channel digital production and design system evolution. Focus on managing complex projects, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering innovative design solutions for global brands.

Location: Full on-site attendance required five days per week at the Barreal office in Heredia (San Jose), Costa Rica

What you will do

  • Oversee production design deliverables for websites, apps, digital advertising, motion graphics, and emails.
  • Lead complex projects from planning to delivery, ensuring alignment with brand and technical standards.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level Creative Engineers to strengthen team performance.
  • Collaborate with creative leads, project managers, and clients to optimize workflows and elevate deliverables.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance across all assets to proactively solve design or technical issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of scalable design systems, templates, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Advertising, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital production design within agencies or startups.
  • Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Proficiency in UI/UX tools (Figma, Sketch) and motion design tools (After Effects).
  • Strong background in digital marketing and online advertising best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with high attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Certifications in UX/UI, design thinking, visual design, or design systems.
