TL;DR

Senior Creative Engineer (Production Design): Leading and executing high-quality production design deliverables across digital platforms with an accent on multi-channel digital production, design systems, and motion graphics. Focus on overseeing complex project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring quality assurance across site, app, and advertising assets.

Location: Full on-site attendance (5 days per week) at the Barreal office in Heredia/San Jose, Costa Rica

What you will do

  • Oversee production design deliverables for sites, apps, digital advertising, motion graphics, and email production.
  • Drive ownership of complex projects from planning through execution and delivery.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level Creative Engineers through coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with creative engineering leads and clients to optimize workflows and elevate deliverables.
  • Perform rigorous quality assurance across all assets to proactively solve design or technical issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of design systems and templates to ensure consistency and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Advertising, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital production design for advertising agencies or startups.
  • Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong knowledge of motion design tools such as After Effects and Adobe Animate.
  • Advanced proficiency in UI/UX design tools like Figma and Sketch.
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in Costa Rica.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Certifications in UX/UI, design thinking, or design systems.
  • Experience with Celtra or Orca Plus.
