What you will do

• Design and evaluate ML models focusing on NLP, recommender systems, and LLM-based solutions.
• Build and experiment with LLM-powered systems, including agentic workflows and RAG.
• Perform data exploration, preprocessing, and feature engineering to ensure high-quality model inputs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.
• Monitor and iterate on model performance to improve accuracy and robustness.
• Supervise Master/Ph.D. students and represent the company at scientific conferences and in articles.

Requirements

• Must be able to work fully on-site in Basel, Switzerland.
• 2-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face.
• Intermediate proficiency in FastAPI, Celery, and Keycloak.
• Strong background in statistics, NLP (tokenization, NER), and AI principles.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and interns.
