What you will do
- Provide technical guidance and supervision for flood-resilient shelter construction and borehole drilling/rehabilitation activities.
- Develop technical specifications, schematic drawings, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for infrastructure works.
- Coordinate WASH activities in alignment with strategy, proposals, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Conduct water quality testing and sanitary inspections at water points.
- Establish and train water point committees and assess training needs for community-based workers.
- Compile weekly and monthly progress reports, program documents, and project proposals.
Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Civil or Water Engineering, Geology, Hydrology or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with WASH projects in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- English: C1 proficiency (excellent written and spoken) required.
- Location: Must be based in Aweil, South Sudan.
- Knowledge of emergency water supply, hygiene, and sanitation requirements and protocols.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
Nice to have
- Fluency in Arabic or other national/regional languages.
- Familiarity with SPHERE international minimum standards for Water and Sanitation delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Epanet, and Google Earth.
- Previous experience working with an INGO or managing start-up activities.
