Salary: $37,100–$51,940 USD gross per annum.

What you will do

• Design and implement multilingual AI systems supporting Amharic and other local languages.
• Develop and maintain RAG and Graph RAG pipelines for healthcare decision support.
• Build multimodal AI capabilities including voice-to-voice chat and speech recognition.
• Configure and deploy LLMs in both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for AI applications.
• Provide technical mentorship and collaborate with the Ministry of Health on digital health strategies.

Requirements

• Must be located in and have unsponsored work authorization in Ethiopia.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in AI, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in AI/ML engineering, LLM application development, and production systems.
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or Hugging Face.
• Experience with RAG, vector databases, and agentic AI workflows.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare AI, clinical decision support, or digital health systems like DHIS2.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian local language NLP datasets and speech technologies.
• Experience with mobile-first and offline-first application architectures.
• Background in working with government stakeholders and international NGOs.
