Senior Mobile Cross Platform Engineer (Flutter)

Location: New York City, hybrid with onsite work 2–3 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 annually; final compensation depends on experience, knowledge, and skills. Equity and variable pay may apply.

What you will do

• Develop and continuously improve rider mobile applications across booking, account management, and core rider journeys.
• Build primarily with Flutter while contributing to native Android and iOS codebases when appropriate.
• Architect and evolve mobile infrastructure, including app architecture, performance optimization, and memory management.
• Diagnose and resolve critical production issues to maintain reliable rider experiences.
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to deliver polished, user-friendly applications.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and share expertise across mobile platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of mobile development experience.
• Strong experience with cross-platform frameworks and solid native Android or iOS development using Kotlin or Swift.
• Experience with Flutter is strongly advantageous, along with familiarity with Dart asynchronous programming.
• Knowledge of mobile architecture patterns, performance optimization, memory management, and concurrent programming, including Kotlin Coroutines or Swift async-await.
• Experience with Location Services and Google Maps API; familiarity with Mapbox or other third-party mapping tools.
• Ownership, collaboration, mentoring, and proactive problem-solving skills.
