Software Engineer (Ruby)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Ruby): Developing and maintaining a SaaS data backup and recovery platform with an accent on robust code, alerting mechanisms, and system reliability. Focus on optimizing backup/restore solutions, troubleshooting complex codebases, and delivering high-impact features within a global scrum team.

Location: Hybrid in Bandung, Indonesia (at least 2 days per week in the office). Not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and test software using Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and Padrino.
• Maintain the Backup product, ensuring efficient and robust production code.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect application issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs within an evolving codebase.
• Collaborate with a global scrum team to deliver high-impact features.
• Create detailed technical design documentation and research new areas.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Ruby scripting and Ruby on Rails/Padrino.
• Knowledge of SQL, Relational Databases, and AWS Cloud.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Must be based in Indonesia (no visa sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET C#, Java, or Kotlin.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• Frontend development skills (ReactJS).
• Experience with agentic AI.
• Prior experience working with international teams.
