TL;DR

Chapter Lead DataLake Platform (DevOps): Managing and developing a team of DevOps engineers to maintain and scale a large-scale DataLake platform with an accent on IT risk controls, platform stability, and people management. Focus on orchestrating product vision, coaching technical talent, and optimizing end-to-end operational processes.

Location: Hybrid (Bucharest, Romania)

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers, providing continuous coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Act as Technical Product Owner to articulate product vision and coordinate team priorities to meet delivery commitments.
  • Oversee the strategy and lifecycle management of the Data Lake implementation.
  • Manage IT risk controls, security, reliability, and disaster recovery in coordination with IT risk teams.
  • Collaborate with an international team of Architects, Product Owners, and Infrastructure Specialists.
  • Assess and optimize end-to-end operational processes to mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a People Manager of development teams with a strong technical background.
  • Expertise in Oracle databases, platform maintenance, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Bash scripting, and Azure DevOps Pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana-Logstash.
  • Knowledge of Data Lake, Big Data, and ETL tooling.
  • English: Advanced (C1) level required
  • Location: Must be based in Bucharest, Romania

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kafka, GCP, or Oracle APEX/Tuning.
  • Knowledge of Apache Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, NIFI, Ranger, CDP) or IBM DataStage.
  • Background in the banking industry.
  • Python development experience or experience with automated testing tools.
